Ever Siempre / MARTA 2019
In 2019, MARTA Artbound and Living Walls commissioned artist Ever Siempre to create two large-scale murals at the East Lake MARTA Station in Atlanta. Selected from an open call of more than 90 applicants, Ever was chosen for his research-driven, community-centered approach to public art. His practice uses symbolic still-life imagery to reflect social, cultural, and economic conditions, and for the East Lake murals he developed compositions rooted in objects and stories shared by local residents.
Community engagement was central to the project. Ever lived in the neighborhood during the production period, met with residents and local business owners, and attended community gatherings that directly informed the mural designs. I was hired to document the project through both video and photography, capturing the process from research and painting through completion. In addition to filming the artist at work, I photographed the evolving murals and created portraiture of Ever in context, producing a visual record that reflects the collaborative nature of the project and its connection to the community that helped shape it.

Neka King / AT&T 2020
In 2020, Living Walls, The City Speaks invited artist Neka King to create a large-scale mural titled Storyteller at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium. The work was conceived as a visual narrative that celebrates the voices, histories, and cultural identities of Atlanta’s Westside, using graphic imagery and symbolic “story blocks” to convey the complexity and richness of community life. The mural’s design invites viewers to stop, reflect, and engage with the layered stories embedded in each panel, extending the reach of public art into one of the city’s most visible civic spaces.
I was hired to document this project through both video and photography, capturing Neka at work on site and the evolution of the mural from initial stages to completion. My documentation includes footage of the painting process, interviews and observational sequences, as well as photographic portraiture of the artist in context. These visual records serve as a comprehensive archive of the project, highlighting both the creative process and the community-centered intentions behind this major public artwork.

Erin Mitchell / AT&T 2020
In 2020, Living Walls, The City Speaks commissioned artist Erin Mitchell to create a public mural in Birmingham, extending the organization’s community-driven public art work beyond Atlanta. The project centered on neighborhood identity and renewal, using symbolic imagery to reflect themes of growth, resilience, and collective investment in place. Erin’s design was informed by local history and community input, positioning the mural as both a visual landmark and a point of pride for the surrounding area.
I was hired to travel out of state to document the project through both video and photography. My work captured the mural’s development from early stages through completion, as well as Erin’s process on site and her relationship to the space. In addition to filming the painting process, I produced photographic documentation of the evolving work and portraiture of the artist in context. Together, these materials form a comprehensive visual record of the project, highlighting the creative process and the role public art can play in strengthening community connection across different cities.

Jurell Cayetano / Atlanta Symphony Orchestra 2019
In 2019, Living Walls, The City Speaks partnered with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra to commission artist Jurrell Cayetano to create a public mural celebrating the ASO’s 75th anniversary season. The project translated the energy and discipline of orchestral performance into a visual language, drawing from backstage moments and the physicality of musicians at work. I was hired to document the project through video, capturing Jurrell’s painting process on site and the mural’s development from early stages through completion. The resulting film focuses on the relationship between music, movement, and mark-making, creating a visual record of how this cross-disciplinary collaboration extended the orchestra’s presence into the public realm.
Sanithna Phansavanh / Atlanta Medical Center 2020
In 2020, Living Walls, The City Speaks partnered with Atlanta Medical Center to commission Stronger Together, a public mural created in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Painted by Sanithna Phansavanh near the hospital’s emergency entrance, the work was conceived as a message of gratitude and solidarity for health-care workers and the surrounding community during a moment of collective crisis. I was hired to document the project through video, capturing the mural’s creation on site and situating the work within the broader context of care, resilience, and public space, creating a visual record of how art functioned as a unifying and supportive presence during an unprecedented time.
In 2019, as part of Living Walls, The City Speaks’ international Living Walls Abroad exchange program, Paris-based street artist Kashink was invited to Atlanta to create a public mural in Decatur, Georgia. Known for her bold color palette and gender-fluid figures, Kashink’s work challenges traditional representations and uses public space to question social norms and identity. I was hired to document the project through video, capturing the artist’s process on site as the mural evolved from early stages through completion. The resulting film highlights both the physical act of painting and the conceptual intent behind the work, serving as a visual record of the cultural exchange and Living Walls’ commitment to bringing international artistic voices into local public spaces.
